The project Port Logistics Center - Varna is included in the National Programme for the development of ports for public transport 2008 - 2015. Port LCV is planned and designed professionally, based on market and operational research, developed by leading engineering and architectural teams. The main operational benefits include: fast and efficient servicing of vessels, advanced equipment for processing and storing of grain, optimal container operations, favorable location and infrastructure. In its entire conception the project fosters transparent, energy efficient and environmentally friendly business.

The port is planned to service three cargo types

  • Grain cargo – including the export of wheat, maize, barley, rape and sunflower by Bulgarian producers
  • Container cargo – various containerized import and export shipments
  • General cargo – big bags and other types of general cargo
  • In addition to the cargo handling services, PLCV will provide grain silos, container and cargo storage, a container freight station for containerization/decontainerization and other port services
